Prof. Dr. Gerald M. Friedman

Over the years of my life, I have been in contact with many different geological organizations. I have written many papers, received many awards, and served in many different positions of authority on different committees. This paper serves to explain to you all how important all of this is to me as a geologist, and I hope that you all may learn from my experiences and go out there and do for geology what I have, in the hopes that we might make geology important to not just geologists, but everyone.
